FUSION MINERAL PAINT IS ECO-CONSCIOUS BY DESIGN

Fusion™ Mineral Paint is a 100% acrylic resin paint without vinyl or excessive fillers. Our pigments are all derived from natural organic or inorganic minerals, and Fusion™ is 100% non-toxic with trace VOCs, no lead, and no phthalates.

Plus – it’s got a built-in topcoat that is UV, water, and stain-resistant – meaning it isn’t porous like chalk or milk paint, so you don’t have to wax or seal it.

PAINT FACT: Across Northern America paints with less than 5g/l of volatile organic compounds (VOC), are commonly labelled as Zero VOC. Hence Fusion™ is classified as a zero VOC paint. However, technically, there is no such thing as a VOC Free or Zero VOC paint. Even the lowest VOC paint will contain trace amounts of VOCs through the processing, drying and purifying of their raw materials. Even the water that is used will impact the amount of VOCs in water-based paint. In the UK, a low VOC decorative furniture paint is deemed safe for use in homes if it contains 30g/l or less of volatile organic compounds (VOC). Fusion has a VOC content of 0.05g/l making it truly virtually zero VOC.

HOW WE DO IT

We use the highest grade of archival quality acrylic resin in all Fusion™ paints. This translates into an extremely high-performance paint that dries to a very hard durable finish. Most acrylic based paints on the market are acrylic blends or acrylic-vinyl mixes. Fusion™ is not an acrylic blend but uses 100% pure acrylic resin. Fusion™ Mineral Paint cures to be one of the most ultra-durable paints on the market and has a non-yellowing finish.

Fusion™ is made with 100% acrylic, meaning it does not use any inexpensive ingredients such as vinyl or latex. It has been found on the marketplace that the word acrylic has been used to describe simple crafty paint, as well as paints that also actually contain vinyl. Fusion™ is also free of many other chemicals commonly used in other lines of paint, such as ammonia or formaldehyde.

THAT’S PRETTY COOL, RIGHT?

Fusion™’s formula allows for the paint to freeze/thaw up to three times before the quality is affected. It has the correct binder-to-solid ratio so that the paint properly cures and hardens without the use of chemicals.

AMAZING COLOURS, DURABILITY AND COVERAGE

Water-based acrylic is the only resin that will not yellow in time. Acrylic paint that has been blended with vinyl or styrene is inferior and yellows over time. Fusion™ uses 100% water-based acrylic. Fusion™ is scratch-resistant once it has had time to cure. It has super strong adhesion once it dries and cures. Fusion™ is water-resistant, stain-resistant, and washable once cured. A topcoat is not required for water permanency. If it is scrubbed too hard during cleaning this smooth matte paint can burnish to a shine, which you will want to avoid to keep the sheen consistent. To avoid this wash with a soft rag and mild soap.

Fusion™ offers excellent coverage, which allows us to offer Pint and Tester sizes. A Pint covers approximately 7m2 (75 sq. ft.). We find that most projects only require a Pint. We offer excellent quality and coverage in sizes you will use, resulting in less out-of-pocket expenses and less environmental waste.
