Can I paint over it?

It is meant to be painted over, but only so that it is easy to remove the paint later on! If you want a solid painted finish, you must remove the Beeswax with mineral spirits.

What is the difference between wet and dry sanding?

Wet sanding is just dry sanding with a little bit of water added! By adding water, you reduce the friction between the sanding paper and the surface youā€™re sanding, allowing you to get a super smooth finish. In addition, adding a bit of water helps to re-activate the paint and make it even easier to sand. This makes any distressing you do look very naturally worn.
